There was an interesting article in the Timaru Herald’s
Central South Island Farmer feature last week, which discussed a speech Dr Suzi
Kerr gave to the New Zealand Institute of Agricultural and Horticultural
science. The article is a good summary of many of Motu’s conclusions from the
AgDialogue group, stressing rewarding farmers who make changes towards best
practice guidelines for reducing emissions and making long-term, carefully
considered policy decisions instead of rushing into dramatic changes.
